Even Oura has explored universal charging concepts in the past, but designing a reliable, one-size-fits-all solution has remained a formidable challenge. As a hardware product designer, I wanted to create an aftermarket alternative that breaks this size barrier—a Universal Motorized Charger that adapts to every Oura Ring size from Size 6 to Size 13. But if you travel often or own multiple rings across generations, you know the biggest pain point: the charger. Oura’s stock chargers are notoriously bulky, desktop-bound, and strictly size-specific. Buy a new size? Buy a new charger. Pack for a trip? Good luck finding space for that rigid puck. As a hardware product designer, I wanted to fix this. Here is how I approached designing a Universal, Gravity-Assisted Travel Charger for Oura Rings (covering Sizes 6 through 13). 1.
